I only traded in the red-mark-up pen of an English classroom after discovering that I could make an even bigger impact by teaching 100s of teachers. This led me to an EdTech start up (plus a few side hustle writing gigs to pay our new mortgage). More or less by accident, I found there was a big, black hole that I could fill by putting strong communications plans in place and honing small biz and nonprofit marketing messages. I looked up one day to see my words now impacting 10s of 1000s. That’s when I saw the Grand Canyon-sized challenge facing changemakers:

100+ clients and millions of words later, I’ve locked down what turns out multiple six-figure launches and multi-million dollah donor campaigns. I’m a conversion copywriter and brand/launch strategist for impact driven small businesses and nonprofits…and then some.
I often find myself operating as a sort of back-pocket Comms & Marketing Director…one that people bring on for value-infused, targeted strategy without the full-time-employee price tag.

I’m a bit different than a typical copywriter:
I believe being human = being a storyteller…which by extension means every human is a writer (see the nonprofit I co-direct for more on this). That’s why I try to distill everything I do into formulas that you can easily follow + apply.
I like teaching copy as much/more than toying with the words myself. Why? That’s true empowerment, which is my M.O. Hence, the wellspring of resources that I continually add to.

I made a home in gorgeous Santa Barbara, CA – a city that’s all ocean vistas, blue skies, and possibilities (kinda like your potential when you get the right copy). I found a big-hearted husband whose genius entrepreneur brain makes a cameo in my agency here and again. Together, we’ve raised our now first-grader and her baby bro toddler to savor and steward this good life, heading outdoors daily with our furry black pup and eating farm fresh. But I’m totally willing to dust the sand off my toes and walk through your project (unless you want to do a beach meeting and dig your toes into the sand too).
